This is the first thanksgiving where I have participated in the mind numbing line waiting, people shoving, wonderful Black Friday shopping. I personally don't want to be here and would much rather be watching the patriots and jets throw the ball all over the field while I inhale pumpkin pie and feel bad about all the delicious food I've consumed. But alas my my nephew wants a grill at toys r us so I am here waiting in line. What has become of us as Americans when we put more emphasis on products than family time. It's frustrating and it makes me sad. Family time doesn't nearly mean as much i used to love thanksgiving, laughter echoing throughout the house, the smell of deserts filling the air but most importantly you spent time with loved ones. I miss those days now it's all about being in line for that blow out deal. But alas I am here as well. Hopefully someday soon we take a look and get back to what really is important.
